Never assume anything when it comes to website marketing. Nobody wants to look for anything when they arrive at a website so don’t make them. You never want to relax and think that they will stroll over to your contact page or try to look for a phone number when a website visitor arrives on your site. Walk them down the path and make it as easy as possible for them.

Here are some ideas to get your phone ringing:

Header

You’re going to want to have your phone number in or near the header somewhere so people can see it. At least above the fold if worst case scenario. Naturally a website visitor’s eyes are going to gravitate towards the top of the page when they first arrive to your website so it is important to have a phone number visible somewhere near the top of the screen.

Existing Content

As your website visitor is reading through the content of your website it is important to naturally sprinkle the phone number into the text. There are plenty of ways to achieve this without making it too aggressive and turning away your reader. It is another touch point for your audience to be able to be reminded that you are a business and if they need help they can call on you for assistance.

Footer

Your footer should also have your business phone number listed along with other things. If your website visitor scrolls down to the bottom of the page don’t ever assume they are scrolling back up. They might not; they might have also already forgotten that your number was in the content and the header. Give them another opportunity to be able to reach out to you if they have to.

If you want some activity on your website you are going to have to have some conversion aspects in place. Depending on what your goals are of your website are you should emphasize that goal and give your audience an opportunity to be able to contact you using that source or effort.
