Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr are quickly becoming more and more popular around the world, with approximately 1.2 billion people using Facebook alone. It is easy to understand why social media is so popular with its users, not only does it connect people in a way they have never been connected before, but it also has a number of functions, games and apps to make sure you keep using the site. Using Social Media you can upload videos and photos to show all of your friends and family, you can update your status to let everyone know what is new with you and you can even play games online with your friends, challenging them or sending them free gifts.
All of this keeps us continually connected with our friends and family, allowing us to be involved in their lives. Furthermore Social Media has become an excellent tool for things like fundraising, allowing money to be raised for charities and helping ill people to find a match if they require a donor or funding for treatment, amongst a range of other good deeds.
Though the world’s population clearly loves social media sites, or at least the majority do anyway, have you ever considered what the world would be like without social media?
Perhaps the biggest of changes stemming from a life without social media….you’d probably work more and be distracted much less.
