5 Secrets to Creating Really Responsive Content

There are well over a dozen ways to create relative and responsive content for a website or blog. The five secrets to focus on are below. When creating content you have to appeal to the reader, give them a reason to read and give them a reason to want to explore more content on your website.

Don’t Forget About SEO

SEO is important when it comes to responsive content. The reason being is that proper placement of specific keywords and embedding them into the links for the articles helps produce better search results. The higher up your content is when a Google search is performed, the more views and reads it will get.

There are a few tricks to getting SEO right. Start with a Google AdWords search using the key topics for your content. This will return results for the most effective keywords to use. Don’t overuse them, twice per 500 words is plenty. Place the keyword in the first and last paragraphs of the content and include it in the title, if possible. If you cannot fit it into the title, change the link wording within the tools of your website building application to include the keyword.

Keep Posts Brief

Readers get bored easily, so it is best to get to the point, stay on topic and ensure that every word you write counts. If you have a topic that requires a lengthy amount of content, consider breaking it up into several posts. Instructional content can be accompanied by images and/or a video to help keep the reader’s attention.

Also break up paragraphs into shorter lengths. A paragraph of roughly five sentences that are no more than 15 words each is ideal. It stops the reader’s eyes from getting tired. It is also best to structure the sentences to not include too many filler words. To a reader, filler words take away from the relevant content. It also helps to cut down on the length of the article when filler words are left out.

Use the Elevator Pitch

The elevator pitch is a tactic used to help introduce the content, similar to that of an article introduction. It is a brief description of what the content promises to deliver and grabs the reader’s attention. You will want to use some of this information in every post to help tie the theme and relevancy of the content together. It helps to maintain brand familiarity and trust. Content on a website has to flow; it cannot be sporadic and have random topics of discussion. It only confuses readers as to what the company is really about. If you have a blog about frugal living, stick to frugal living content. Do not throw in random articles about the new car you just bought or the latest high-tech gadget. Stay relevant.

Format the Content Better

The way that content is presented to readers is quite important. Break up articles with bolded subheadings. Highlight quotations in a different color and use italics. You can also use a video or image to breakup content. Videos grab the attention of readers and get them to continue on with the content rather than glance and close out of the website.

With this strategy, use a larger font size for the headings and subheadings. It helps to break up the monotony of the text. Also consider using a different color for subheadings. Blue is a color that grabs the attention of readers rather easily, just using this color as an example.

Use Images Effectively

Reimagine the images used in the content. Make sure that they are relevant to the content. If you are embedding links into the content, in order to achieve the proper response from readers, ensure that the content they redirect to is related. Linking to irrelevant content leads to penalties and link usage violations. This action can cause a loss of website traffic or readers. A good impression is what you are trying to achieve. By reimagining the images, such as a brief explanation as to why a specific image emulates the message in the content, it gains interest and gets readers thinking, thus engaging them more in what you have to offer.

These five secrets, when put to work properly, will return the right responsiveness to the content you present on a website or blog. Remember to stay relevant and on task. If you wish to have a website with random content, be sure to have a navigation bar for each topic and explain to readers that a variety of topics will be within the website. Leaving readers confused is the worst possible thing. You want them to read and come back multiple times.
