How to Delete a Page in a PDF in Less Than One Minute

Whether you’re creating a PDF to share with colleagues at work, editing a PDF that someone else created, or putting together a project for school, there will inevitably come a time when you need to delete pages from a PDF. This comes in handy when you need to remove outdated information or delete pages of sensitive information before sharing files with others. Below, you can learn how to delete pages from a PDF free – and in less than one minute if you’re using Adobe Acrobat.

Adobe Online

Adobe Acrobat Online offers you the ability to delete pages from a PDF online for free. As long as you have access to the internet and the file you need to change, all you have to do is upload the file, make the required changes, and then save the altered file to your device. With it, you can delete PDF pages in just seconds, and you don’t have to download or install software to do it.

However, if you do need access to additional tools for working with PDF documents, There are two Adobe Acrobat subscription tiers to choose from, and these are Acrobat Pro and Acrobat PDF Pack. The Acrobat PDF pack includes the basics  – everything you need to convert, store, share, organize, and delete PDF pages – and the Acrobat Pro pack adds additional features such as text and image editing, redactions, accessibility enhancements, password protection, and more.

How to Delete a Page in PDF

When you are working with Adobe Acrobat, deleting pages from a PDF is incredibly easy. All you need to do is go to the Tools menu and select Organize Pages or simply select Organize Pages from the menu in the right pane. Then, choose the thumbnail of the page that you want to delete and click the Delete icon to remove the page (or multiple pages) from the file. Remember to apply your changes by clicking the OK button and then save your changes by exporting the file to the location of your choice.

How to Replace a PDF Page

You also have the option to replace an entire page in a PDF with a different page in Adobe Acrobat. When you do this, remember that only the text and images on the page will be replaced. Things like links, bookmarks, and comments will not be affected. To do this, navigate once again to the Organize Pages menu option, then select the Replace option in the secondary toolbar. Now you will see a dialog box prompting you to Select Files With New Pages, so simply select the document that contains the replacement pages.

Now that you’ve opened the document that contains your replacement pages, the next step is to enter the pages you want to replace in the original document in the Original field. Then, under Replacement, enter the first page of the replacement page range, and remember that Adobe Acrobat will automatically choose the ending page based on the number of pages you choose to replace in your original PDF. Click OK to apply your changes.

How to Renumber Pages in a PDF

Sometimes you might notice that the page numbers on the pages of your documents don’t match the page numbers that appear below the thumbnails for each individual page of your document. It’s important to remember that Page 1 always refers to the first page of the document in the Page Navigation toolbar, and if your PDF file contains front matter – things like a Table of Contents, a foreword, or a copyright page, for example – the body pages may not line up with the numbers on the Page Navigation toolbar.

Adobe Acrobat gives you several options for numbering your pages, and you can even specify different numbering styles for individual groups of pages. For example, you can use one numbering system for your front matter and a secondary numbering system for the main body of the content. To do this, click the Page Thumbnails button, then choose Page Labels from the menu and specify the page range you want to renumber. You can choose to Begin New Section, which starts a new numbering sequence, or you can Extend Numbering Used In Preceding Section To Selected Pages to number the selected pages in sequence with the ones before it.

Adobe Acrobat makes it incredibly easy to not only access PDFs but also edit them. Learning how to delete a PDF page in less than a minute – as well as how to replace and renumber PDF pages – can make it much simpler for you to create professional documents that serve a wide range of purposes in
